What is the daily schedule like?
The day starts with intensive morning yoga practice at 7:00 AM, followed by breakfast, meditation and pranayama, village immersion activities, lunch, optional one-to-one sessions or rest time, evening yoga practice, communal dinner, and evening closing sessions (Yoga Nidra, sound healing, chanting). The schedule balances structured activities with personal time for relaxation and reflection.
Will I have time for myself during the retreat?
Absolutely! The retreat is designed to be relaxing and rejuvenating. There are dedicated rest periods in the afternoon, and the schedule allows for personal reflection time. You can choose to participate in optional activities or simply enjoy the serene Himalayan setting at your own pace.
What kind of food will be served?
All meals are Sattvic (pure, clean, and plant-based) and vegetarian, prepared with consciousness and care following Ayurvedic principles. Meals are designed to balance your doshas and support your yoga practice. We use seasonal, local ingredients, and the food is both nourishing and delicious. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with prior notice.
What cultural experiences are included?
The retreat includes authentic cultural immersion experiences such as celebrating the vibrant Holi festival, traditional Himachali Dham feast, village walks to explore local life, visits to Tibetan monasteries and temples, local art and craft experiences, and participation in group sessions like Bhajan, Kirtan, and satsang.
How do I get to Dharamshala?
Dharamshala has its own airport (Gaggal Airport - DHM) which is about 20 minutes from AltSpace. You can fly directly to Dharamshala, or fly to Delhi and then take a connecting flight or an overnight bus to Dharamshala (a more economical option). We can help you with travel arrangements and provide detailed directions upon booking.
What is the weather like in Dharamshala in March?
March in Dharamshala is pleasant with cool mornings and evenings, and mild daytime temperatures. The weather is perfect for yoga practice and outdoor activities. We recommend bringing layers - light clothing for daytime activities and warmer clothes for early morning yoga and evenings.
